Covance is currently recruiting for a Client Services Manager to join the rapidly expanding team at our nutritional testing lab in Harrogate! In this exciting role the successful Candidate will be the CFS client service ambassador to internal and external customers, being an interface on technical issues with clients, providing consultation on regulatory compliance and product development to major clients. We will consider home based Candidates, must be able to travel to the Harrogate office regularly to work with the team there. . Ideal Candidates will have experience of direct Food testing industry experience, including knowledge of the regulatory environment, possess excellent customer and team building skills, and be used to, and willing, to travel regularly to European client sites.

About the job

• The primary responsibility is to manage all aspects of quote, proposal and RFI/RFP development for assigned opportunities; adhering to agreed-upon proposal and pricing processes

• Ensures response team is developing creative solutions for client inquiries

• Responsible for managing opportunities of medium to high complexity autonomously

• Reviews RFP/quote requests to ensure full understanding of client requirements

• Works with Operations, Finance, Business Development Directors and others to compile proposal response

• Ensures timely delivery of assigned proposals to clients

• Evaluates data entry into SFDC, LIMS, and other databases as appropriate (e.g. updates, proposal number requests and generating both regularly scheduled and impromptu reports) for accuracy and completion

• Responsible for client-facing and senior management-facing activities surrounding assigned opportunities

• Identifies and resolves issues around client inquiry requirements and Covance capabilities

• Maintains appropriate knowledge of the technical and regulatory environments

• Responsible for executing or facilitating internal and external opportunity management negotiations (i.e. pricing, process, resources, etc.)

• Anticipates, detects, promotes quality and process improvement needs in the maintenance and continued development of key client relationships

• Promotes internal expertise through training and guidance to less experienced staff on interpretation of a RFP/quote/protocol

• Performs quality control activities for peers and less experienced staff

• Responsible for technical development of proposals for clients, client consultations and troubleshooting and data analysis

• Understanding of the food testing world

 

About you

• Direct CRO/food testing lab or other analytical-related experience preferred

• Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact

• Demonstrated computer skills – requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task, project manage and prioritize

• Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills

• Proven ability to work independently

• Knowledge of other software applications (i.e. SFDC) preferred

• Ability to work to deadlines

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with clients and Covance senior management

• Positive attitude and sense of urgency

• Possesses a general knowledge of and ability to work across Covance
