Berlin 2018 - Food Supplements in Europe - Opportunities for Consumer Health

Food Supplements in Europe - Opportunities for consumer health

We cordially invite you to our European conference "Food Supplements in Europe - Opportunities for consumer health”, which will take place on 8 and 9 March 2018 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Berlin.

The Food Supplements Directive of 2002 has proven to be a milestone in the history of European harmonisation in the food area. However, while many significant steps forward have been taken, gaps in the EU framework remain and new challenges as the effective control of internet sales have come up.

The conference will first discuss experience of 15 years of the Food Supplements Directive and will then focus on the most significant topics currently under discussion across Europe, including:

  • Botanicals in food supplements - are EU solutions possible?
  • Harmonised maximum levels of vitamins and minerals - are we ready?
  • The role of food supplements for health and wellbeing - what do we know?

The two associations, the German Federation of Food Law and Food Science (BLL) and Food Supplements Europe, are looking forward to an event that will address current issues and future challenges, openly and intensively, between high-ranking speakers and leading experts from regulatory authorities, science, industry and society. The high-level meeting will be a forum to exchange ideas and solutions to give fresh impetus to the discussion and pave the way to common understanding and solutions.

Please see the enclosed programme for details. This includes all necessary information on registration, the hotel and the conference’s evening event. To register online, simply click here.

It is highly recommended to make a hotel reservation as soon as possible.

We look forward to welcoming you in Berlin!
